On April 26, 2007, PEN-International had an exhibit, as part of a street ‘fair' showcasing NTID programs and projects, for the visiting NTID National Advisory Group (NAG). Along with PEN-International faculty and staff, two students who participated in the 2006 Summer Leadership Institute, Elizabeth Sorkin and Christopher Samp, represented PEN-International as student ambassadors, where they talked about their experiences.
During the fair, NAG members, NTID faculty and staff, students, and community members mingled and viewed the various exhibits. One NAG member was assigned to a specific display, and asked to present on that program. Dr. Angel Ramos led a five-minute presentation and discussion about PEN-International and its Summer Leadership Institute during an open NAG meeting later that day. It was a very pleasant afternoon of networking and interaction.
