In the months of November and December 2003, the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies at CSB and PEN-International completed a series of five seminars that comprised the first module (The learner and the learning process) of a six-module series regarding learner-centered education. The first module focused upon providing faculty participants with an orientation to the learner-centered education model following a framework set by the American Psychological Association. These principles cover cognitive and meta-cognitive factors, motivational and affective factors, and factors relating to individual differences.
