A teleconference workshop, "Accounting Basics for Micro-Entrepreneurs" was conducted with the College of St. Benilde in Manila, Philippines, on December 18th. Mr. Joshua Beal, a graduate student in RIT's Masters of Business Administration Program and PEN-International professional intern, presented on basic accounting principles, focusing on basic accounting equations including the three main categories of Assets, Liabilities and Owners Equity. The concluding exercise resulted in participants setting up a balance sheet and understanding the purpose of a balance sheet when running one's own micro-business. There were approximately 20 participants including students, alumni, and instructors at CSB.
