Bio
Dr. Lisa Greenwood is an associate professor in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), with over 25 years of experience in environmental and occupational health and safety management. Her teaching and research interests include EHS management systems integration and implementation, environmental sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and related private governance mechanisms.
Prior to joining the faculty at RIT, Dr. Greenwood worked as an environmental engineer, EHS audit program manager, and international EHS standards specialist in the aerospace sector, and has assisted over 50 industrial, administrative, and academic sites with implementation of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, R2, and E-stewards standards. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Management from RIT, M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of New Haven, and Ph.D. in Environmental and Natural Resource Policy from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, in association with Syracuse University.
Dr. Greenwood is the Chair of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Technical Committee 207's subcommittee on environmental management systems. Greenwood has been an active member of TAG 207 since 1999, and participated on the U.S. TAG on Social Responsibility from 2008-2010. She has served as a U.S. expert on environmental management systems at the international level since 2005, and was the lead expert for the U.S. representing ANSI in the 2015/2016 revisions of ISO 14001 and 14004.
