Rising Star Award

Eligibility

Eligible staff must be regular employees of the university for at least six months but no more than three years prior to the award ceremony.    Recipients must be employed at RIT at the time of the award ceremony.  This award is given at the discretion of the Selection Committee to one individual who has not previously received this award.

Criteria

The recipient:

  • Embraces the RIT Core Values and has made a unique departmental contribution.
  • Presents progressive examples of high quality of service.
  • Shows imagination, creativity and innovation which embody the RIT Core Values.
  • Has demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and university constituents.
  • In addition, awardees may demonstrate one or more of the following:
    • A significant contribution to advance diversity, equity and inclusion that has resulted in a positive outcome.
    • An exceptional contribution to their department’s level of service satisfaction.
    • A significant contribution to the efficiency of an operation or unit.
    • A significant contribution to student success, directly or indirectly.

Nominations for the Rising Star Award will be accepted through December 23, 2024.
