Bio
Pronouns: They/Them.
Astrid Zambori is a non-binary, queer, second year STEM student attending NTID and working toward their associates degree in general science. They will go on to pursue their bachelors and master’s degree in biotechnology from RIT. Their ultimate goal in academia is to work within and develop the field of astrobotany, also known as astrobiology. When they are not studying, they can be found working at the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement as their Into the R.O.C. leadership scholar or working behind the scenes in NTID theatre. In their free time they enjoy appreciating nature, immersing themselves in the literary world, and creating various forms/types of art. (Types of art include crochet, embroidery/sewing, multi-modal collages.)
Platform
-Encourage revising of impactful policies such as housing requirements for NTID-scholarship supported students.
-Push for more Deaf accessibility on campus beyond the walls of classrooms and encourage more signing spaces in all colleges.
-Promote Deaf friendliness in dining locations on campus.
-Connect NTID more with different parts of the RIT community.
-Help allow NTID students to feel fully supported when possible!
