RIT celebrates graduate student work
Weeklong celebration culminates in student and alumni presentations at Graduate Showcase
More than 100 Rochester Institute of Technology master’s and Ph.D. students will highlight their latest research and innovations at the 11th annual Graduate Education Showcase. The event is the culmination of a weeklong celebration of its graduate students from Nov. 12-16 that includes speakers, workshops, a theater performance and social events.
The Graduate Showcase will feature oral and poster presentations on topics varying from artificial intelligence to sustainable food waste management. A new addition to the showcase this year will be a panel of distinguished graduate alumni discussing the journey from graduate study to careers. The panel will feature Patricia S. Phillips ’90 (business administration), John Aäsp ’06 MFA (imaging/photographic arts), Robert Loce ’85 (photographic science), ’93 (imaging science) and Kimberly Braithwaite ’98 MS (human resource development).
“The Graduate Showcase is an important opportunity for the RIT and Rochester community to hear the latest creative and scholarly breakthroughs by RIT’s top graduate students,” said Twyla Cummings, dean of Graduate Education. “These students are poised to become tomorrow’s leaders and attendees can expect to enjoy a multidisciplinary display of innovative thought leadership.”
The Graduate Showcase takes place from 8 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in Louise Slaughter Hall and is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
