RIT hosts annual Faculty Institute on Teaching and Learning May 26-27

College faculty searching for new ways to present material while keeping students engaged in learning are encouraged to attend the 11th annual RIT Faculty Institute on Teaching and Learning, May 26-27, at the RIT Inn & Conference Center.

Faculty from RIT and regional colleges including Hobart and William Smith, Nazareth College and State University of New York at Geneseo will share research, ideas and best practices for teaching and learning during more than 30 presentations and workshops held throughout the two-day conference. Registration runs until May 18.

Keynote speakers for the conference are:

• George Kuh, director of the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research. Kuh has written extensively about student engagement, assessment, institutional improvement and college and university culture. His talk is sponsored by RIT and SUNY Geneseo.
• David Yearwood, associate professor and technology department chairperson, University of North Dakota. Yearwood is an expert on how faculty infuse presentations or other technologies to connect and engage students, enhance their understanding of course content and promote dialogue.
