Ekua Quagraine, a second-year international business major from Kansas City, Mo., is the current president of Women in Business. Under her leadership, the organization will resume its annual Skate for a Cause event on Feb. 18, to benefit the Malala Fund.

EMA Design Automation, Cadence Design Systems Inc., and RIT are collaborating to provide college-level printed circuit board (PCB) design courses for students in RIT’s College of Engineering Technology. Taught both online and in-person by PCB design industry experts, the courses can provide engineers with training and development opportunities in key areas of electronics design and manufacturing.

After the contested 2020 presidential election, the tumult of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, and the national protests following the killing of George Floyd, RIT looked inward to see how to address the political climate with the student body. The result is an increased effort to create a campus culture of free speech and to give students the skills to participate in civil discourse respectfully and productively long after they graduate.

Industrial Design students and faculty, in collaboration with RIT Libraries, designed the Hexacart, a library-on-wheels that brings rich visual resources to the doorstep of College of Art and Design students, faculty and staff.

Into the ROC, a popular way for RIT students to explore and volunteer in the area where they attend school, has released its spring schedule, which includes maple syrup harvesting, museum tours, and a coffee crawl of local coffee roasters.

The first, with the topic, “Youth and Opportunity: What Should We Do for Future Generations to Thrive?” is scheduled for Feb. 9.

The RIT Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Professor Michael Ruhling, is offering a series of four free performances Wednesday afternoons this semester, exploring the music of Ludwig van Beethoven.

C. Rose Smith, an MFA candidate in RIT's Photography and Related Media program, is immersing themself in various photographic process through their graduate studies and work experiences at the nearby George Eastman Museum and RIT's Image Permanence Institute.
