Bio
Darian Slattery is a proud member of and advocate for both the Deaf and Disabled communities. Hailing from NJ, Darian learned ASL when she was 14 years-old, but credits her time as a student at RIT/NTID for allowing her to own her DeafDisabled identity and fully realize her passion for advocacy.
As a student, Darian was involved in student government, edited videos for the NTID marketing department, and participated in as much theatre as she could while she earned her BS in Communication, with a minor in ASL and Deaf Studies. Since her graduation in 2021, Darian has worked in multiple creative, professional roles at RIT/NTID including full-time as a Creative Producer for Morpheyes, and seasonally as a Director of Artistic Sign Language and Assistant Director of NTID and School of Performing Arts theatrical productions.
Having been a student herself, and having worked with them extensively, Darian feels uniquely qualified to communicate to prospective students and their families that RIT/NTID truly has a home for people of any professional interest and personality type. Darian is enthused to be able to serve as an admissions counselor for RIT/NTID and help potential attendees realize the vast opportunities this university can offer.
