Fourth annual Graduate Research and Creativity Symposium next month
Submissions due by June 25; RIT alumnus Steve Schultz of Pictometry will give keynote
Graduate students have the opportunity to present their research to peers and the Rochester community at the annual Graduate Research and Creativity Symposium on July 17.
RIT’s Office of Graduate Studies is soliciting abstracts for talks and poster presentations. The submission deadline is June 25. All presenters must be of graduate standing from any of the university’s nine colleges.
The symposium is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 17 in Louise M. Slaughter Hall on the RIT campus. The symposium is free and open to the public. There will be morning and afternoon presentations and a poster session. To submit an abstract proposal and see the symposium schedule.
Steve Schultz ’89 (computer science), co-founder of Pictometry and the company’s chief technology officer, will deliver the keynote address at 12:15 p.m. Schultz designed and developed the underlying technology for Pictometry’s patented systems, including the flight planning, field capture and end user software Electronic Field Study. In 2007, RIT honored Schultz with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
