Rochester Printing Company Wins Coveted Pollution Prevention Achievement Award
Going green pays off for Monroe Litho
Chris Pape, owner of Monroe Litho, earned the Pollution Prevention Achievement Award from New York State Pollution Prevention Institute, which is housed at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Rochester printing company Monroe Litho is being recognized by the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute for leadership in sustainability with the printing industry.
The company will be awarded the Pollution Prevention Achievement Award for its environmental initiatives with High Tech Rochester, the Regional Technology Development Center, for reducing process waste by 100 percent and water usage by 5.9 percent, decreasing emissions by 29 percent, as well as reducing fuel used in the transportation of paper by 31 percent.
Anahita Williamson, director of NYSP2I, which is housed at Rochester Institute of Technology, will present the award, along with Assemblyman Harry Bronson, Sen. Joe Robach, City of Rochester Department of Environmental Services Commissioner Paul Holahan and representatives from High Tech Rochester, to Monroe Litho during a ceremony at the company’s headquarters on June 30.
