"We are confronted daily with an insurmountable influx of visual information. It quietly shrouds our sense of truth. Buried under a veil of the sensational, the staged, the crude, and the hyperreal — one can not be certain if the image before them represents documented history or is a simulated probability. Navigating this paradigm is at the core of my practice.
This body of work explores the notions of truth and image. The images, manipulated throughout their creation, are no longer what they may have originally been. The objects depicted are not real, nor invented. They are suspended within illusionary space and subjectivity. I make images that speak beyond abstraction. I invite and challenge the viewer to question the authenticity of what they see." - Rebecca Aloisio
