Salute

Inspired by the minimal and geometric furniture of Lella and Massimo Vignelli, particularly the MetaForma table, this martini glass design celebrates the classic and cool essence of martinis, one of my favorite cocktails. The
glass features a simple conical cup and a wide-set cylindrical stem, eliminating the need for a foot. The stem, created using the ‘incalmo’ glass blowing technique, seamlessly joins two differently colored pieces into one form. This design nods to the colorful stacking Heller cups designed by the Vignellis in the 1960’s. There are three distinct color configurations, which creates a bold pallette when sharing a martini with friends. The fusion of minimalist design and vibrant color offers a modern take on a timeless cocktail.

“Salute” is a salutation in Italian, Lella and Massimo’s native tongue, and means “cheers”.
