Albert J. Simone piloted Rochester Institute of Technology through the greatest growth in the university’s modern history. Simone’s 15 years at the helm of RIT also includes a legacy of community leadership.

Monroe County and the City of Rochester jointly declared Friday, June 15, 2007 as “Albert J. Simone Day.” Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks and Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy will visit campus to deliver a special proclamation.  The official dedication of  the “Albert J. and Carolie R. Simone Plaza and Circle” also took place near the Eastman Building, Student Alumni Union and Sentinel sculpture in honor of President Simone and his wife.
