NEW MARKET ANALYSIS REQUIREMENT - 9/2024
A market analysis is now the first step for new degree programs, new dual degree proposals, and title changes for existing programs.
Enrollment Management will send the completed market analysis to the Dean, Associate Dean, and individual(s) who requested the analysis.
In instances where the market analysis and recommendation from Enrollment Management suggest that a program (or title change) should not come to market, the Dean will decide how to proceed and can add a statement to the cover letter that is sent to ICC or Grad Council regarding actions, if any, that were taken with respect to the market analysis.
The market analysis must be completed and accompany the proposal BEFORE the proposal can be sent to ICC or Grad Council for review.

RIT'S REACCREDITATION PROCESS HAS BEGUN
In the fall of 2023, RIT began embarking on a university-wide self-study effort in pursuit of re-accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) in Spring 2026. Our previous re-accreditation was approved in 2017.
UPDATED GUIDANCE FROM NYSED REGARDING LAS/GE CREDITS - 10/2022
NYSED recently clarified a policy intended to standardize the required number of Liberal Arts and Sciences (GE) credits for a particular degree when a proposed program includes more than the minimum number of required credits for the degree award. Going forward, programs will include GE credits as a proportion of the minimum required for the degree award. For example, any B.S. program needs 60 credits of GE, even if it requires more than 120 credits to complete. See the required number of GE credits for all degree types.
