New Degree Program Intent Document and Process

The process for proposing new undergraduate and graduate degree programs was updated in August 2019 to help ensure that new programs ideas are vetted across the university before a full proposal is developed.

In 2024, a market analysis was added as the first step, which includes a recommendation from Enrollment Management.

All new degree program ideas are required to follow the process. Examples of degree programs are BS, BFA, MS, MFA, MBA, and Ph.D.

Please note that certificate and advanced certificate programs are exempt from the Intent Document process.

The next submission deadline for new Intent Documents (and resubmissions) is February 15, 2025.
