Adjustable Lavatory Care Facilities

Current Solution

A holistic design solution has been created which incorporates the design of the interior of the lavatory and the installed fixtures  with a goal of  maintaining the dignity of the user as well as meeting their physical needs. This solution targets healthcare facilities but should be beneficial for the design of public spaces.

Problem Statement

Currently, accessible public lavatories at healthcare facilities, although functional in aiding people with mobility impairments, are alienating to users. They highlight the user's disability more so than their abilities with bulky attachments resulting in a rather odd appearance. This causes the targeted users to feel disheartened even in the most basic activity.  So how can a lavatory be designed that is functional and also universal?
