Al Sigl Discovery Program at RIT is an immersive cooperative education program for students to engage with agencies in the development of assistive devices and systems.
Since its inception in 2015, the Al Sigl Discovery program has resulted in the genesis of over 50 different project ideas that have turned into an even greater number of projects, design concepts and even a start up "thermapparrel" ( https://www.thermapparel.com/ ). The motivation for the technology to produce innovative cooling garments for health and exercise originated with students meeting and working with individuals associated with the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, one of the Al Sigl member agencies.
