Problem Statement
Many children with cerebral palsy (CP) suffer from an inability to balance and stand upright. So-called pediatric standers became a crucial tool from both a therapeutic and socialization perspective. Unfortunately the majority of these standers require a caregiver or family member to move the stander from place to place. For a variety of reasons there are no motorized pediatric standers that would allow a child to move in a self-directed fashion.. Motivated by the goal of “letting all kids be kids”, the objective is to design a new pediatric standing experience that would enhance the quality of life for children in this situation.
