University Advancement Ambassadors

The University Advancement Ambassadors are a student group comprised of 1-2 representatives from each of RIT’s 11 colleges. Becoming a University Advancement Ambassador at RIT offers students a prestigious and enriching experience that goes far beyond the classroom. As an ambassador, students will serve as key representatives of the RIT student body, engaging directly with university constituents, generous donors, senior administrators, Deans, the President, and influential community leaders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Represent the Student Voice to Alumni and Donors.
    Alumni Ambassadors serve as student representatives, sharing the current student experience with alumni, donors, through scholarships, facilities, programs, and opportunities.
  2. Support University Advancement Efforts and Serve as a Bridge to the Student Body.
    Ambassadors help grow campus-wide awareness of the impactful work being done by University Advancement and how it directly enhances the student experience.
  3. Develop as Emerging Professionals and Leaders.
    Through direct interaction with senior leadership, prominent alumni, and industry professionals, Ambassadors gain significant professional development. They build transferable skills in communication, networking, event planning, and institutional advancement.

Become a Member

The University Advancement Ambassadors are always looking for new members at the beginning of every academic year. To apply, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Be a full-time student.
    • Undergraduate, can be on co-op during their involvement.
    • Graduate, enrolled in at least one class per semester.
  • Have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA, cumulative.
  • Must be able to participate in at least a full academic year, following their acceptance into the organization. Graduating students may only apply in the fall semester of their final year.
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the university.
