Michael Richards, Ph.D
Dr. Michael S. Richards received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester and his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. Dr. Richards is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology and an adjunct research professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His lab at RIT, the Biomechanical Imaging Laboratory, is focused on research in the fields of medical ultrasound imaging, image processing, inverse problems in medicine, and the biomechanics of soft tissues. Specifically, Dr. Richards is interested in studying the mechanical environment changes associated with a variety of medically relevant pathologies including musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
