The Freshman Experience: Biz 1+2 provides hands-on education through applied-learning opportunities in and out of the classroom. From the first day of the semester, Saunders business students are encouraged to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship. This set of fundamental business courses allows students to work and collaborate in teams to develop a complete business plan with dedicated faculty and state-of-the-art facilities to simulate an industry experience.
Team business plans are presented to a panel of alumni and industry professionals for their critique and advice at the end of each fall semester. Students continue to develop their plans in the spring semester and present them once again, where two winners are determined.
Saunders congratulates the achievements of the 2022 Business Plan Competition Winners, Bye Bye Bag and Tiger Taxi! Bye Bye Bag is comprised of Nick Lucarini, Halle Wagner '25 (supply chain management), Jeremy Heise (accounting), and Parker Hoyt. Tiger Taxi's team is Tre'Ahna Gains '26 (MBA), Felix-Nadine Herweg, Michael Santoro, and Evan Snyder.
