Saunders College of Business 2022-2023 student delegates for graduation are Maggie Dempsey and Alena Pishchuk. Recognized for their impact, the two will represent Saunders College at this year’s convocation and commencement ceremonies on May 12 and 13.
RIT Rochester Campus Delegates
Undergrad Delegate
Maggie Dempsey is graduating with her management information systems undergraduate degree as she starts her MBA program. As a Saunders Scholar, she has tremendously impacted the college through her leadership role with the Leadership Academy at Saunders. In 2022, Maggie led the inaugural campus-wide Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) and then served on the executive team for WLS’s 2023. Additionally, she was a peer mentor to first-year students and was involved with Saunders student clubs and organizations such as Women in Business.
“She is an excellent role model for young student leaders and has helped to mentor them in leadership positions," said Dean Jacqueline Mozrall. “Her relatable story is meaningful to students as she truly is an inspiration.”
Graduate Delegate
Alena Pishchuk is an exceptional student and Fulbright Scholar from Belarus, pursuing her MBA, and she is also the graduate student delegate for RIT's Convocation. Alena represents a large community of RIT students who travel around the globe to study in a different culture and language.
“The experience she brings as an international student, along with her resilience as she adapts to RIT and American cultures, is powerful,” said Dean Jacqueline Mozrall. “Alena is a passionate and articulate speaker, sharing the message that while all students struggle academically, socially, mentally, and physically, there are strategies they can use to push through those challenges.”
RIT Global Campus Delegates
RIT China Delegate, Weihai Campus
Yongzhe Liang graduates as the RIT China delegate with a bachelor of science in management information systems from RIT China. In addition to distinguishing himself academically, Yongzhe completed an internship with CITIC Securities, presented research at the RIT Global Humanities conference, and participated in Imagine RIT. Yongzhe leads by example and has been instrumental in developing Tiger House, an organization that brings the spirit of RIT to the China campus. He also helped establish a student and staff committee at RIT China to help bridge the gap between students and professors, acting tirelessly as an advocate and mentor for the past four years.
Yongzhe has additionally been awarded the prestigious opportunity to pursue a master's in engineering in computer science and technology at Beijing Jiaotong University based on his outstanding achievements. His goal is to become a professional network engineer.
RIT Dubai Delegate
Supreeta Olivera graduates as the RIT Dubai delegate summa cum laude with a bachelor's in finance. Supreeta's dynamic nature is not only academic, as she's joined several extracurricular activities throughout her undergraduate career at RIT Dubai. Upon joining RIT, she became the founder and president of the chess club. She was additionally given the opportunity to serve as president of the finance club, where she was instrumental in planning several events for RIT and high school students. Supreeta has enjoyed participating with several other RIT Dubai clubs and has volunteered as an academic tutor for quantitative business courses. She plans on pursuing a master's in finance with the goal of attaining a doctorate in finance.
