Dean ogilvie to co-lead mayoral transition team
Saunders College of Business Dean dt ogilvie has been named one of two leaders of Rochester Mayor-Elect Lovely A. Warren’s transition team.
Co-chairing the team with ogilvie will be Rochester lawyer Christopher Thomas, partner in the firm Nixon Peabody.
“I am pleased to have been asked to serve in supporting Mayor-Elect Warren as she lays the foundation for her historic administration,” ogilvie said. “I look forward to working with Chris Thomas and others on the team.”
Founding director of RIT’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship, ogilvie has been dean and professor of business strategy at Saunders since 2012. Prior to joining RIT, she was professor of business strategy and urban entrepreneurship at Rutgers Business School - Newark and New Brunswick.
She has written articles that have appeared in top journals and five of her research papers have been recognized with research awards. She was also responsible for the first and only White House Summit on Urban Entrepreneurship. Her research interests include strategic decision making and the use of creativity to enhance business and battlefield decision making and applying complexity theory to strategy and creativity; executive leadership strategies of multicultural women executives; women in the executive suite; assessing environmental dimensions; strategic thinking in the 21st century; cognition and strategic decision making; and entrepreneurship and economic development of urban cities.
Saunders, one of nine colleges at RIT, offers nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate business programs.
