CS@RIT hosts regional programming competition
CS@RIT recently hosted regional competitors of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), with 84 registered teams from 19 universities competing. The top four universities will advance to the North America Championship, from which the top teams will advance to the World Finals. Two RIT teams performed well, placing 13th and 17th overall. The contest involves teams of up to three students solving problems within five hours, using a single computer.

As a result of being all too familiar with illness and grief, Sheikh has wished for help creating a game jam to raise awareness for children experiencing loss and serious illnesses, and RIT’s MAGIC Spell Studios is partnering with the Dear Jack Foundation to make this wish come true.

RIT researchers to create serious video game for infrastructure resilience to cyberattacks
Researchers at RIT are building a serious video game to help cities prepare for, prevent, and respond to cyberattacks. RIT received a more than $600,000 grant and was selected by the Army Cyber Institute (ACI) at West Point to develop the cyber exercise game and a framework for future development.
