We are very excited to welcome two new members to the DDI Family!
Be sure to say hello to Imani Baker, the new senior staff assistant at MCAS! Baker comes to RIT from The Harley School where she worked in the Nursery Program and coached the 2022 varsity volleyball team to the State Finals. She has some experience with that sport having played for two years on the college level at Clark Atlanta University. She graduated with a degree in International Business Administration and minored in Spanish. Baker is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
A warm welcome to Jazzmyn Ivery-Robinson who is the new assistant director of Community and Belonging. She will lead community building opportunities for students as well as the RIT community as a whole through our signature events and heritage month programming. Ivery-Robinson most recently worked at Nazareth in a similar position. She is an RIT graduate, holds two masters in marketing and management and her first day was March 22nd.
What an honor for Thomastine Sarchet-Maher, assistant professor, National Technical Institute for the Deaf. She was recognized last month as an RIT PI Millionaire for her research, securing over $1 million in external funding. You can read more about it here.
Congratulations to Senior Director of Operations for DDI, Sandra Whitmore. She is the recipient of the Isaac L. Jordan Sr. Staff Pluralism Award presented during the RIT Presidential Awards ceremony on March 22nd. It is named in honor of Jordan who served as the first chairman of the President’s Commission on Pluralism and recognizes individuals who work to build communities of inclusion at RIT. Also, congratulations are in order to all of the nominees for the RIT Presidential Awards, across campus, including several from the Division of Diversity and Inclusion: Individual Nominee: Stella Lee, assistant director Diversity Education and Team Nominee: DDI Marketing and Communications: Janet Lomax, journalist in residence, Devon Watters assistant director of Marketing and Communications and Sandra Whitmore.
