Ten McNair, CSTEP and LSAMP students were in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last month attending the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS). The conference focuses on undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, graduate students and postdoctoral scientists in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and some of them had an opportunity to present their research conducted here at RIT. They were accompanied by Professor Bolaji Thomas from the College of Health Sciences and Technology. All of their travel arrangements were funded through their respective programs. If you see any of the following students, be sure to congratulate them! They are McNair students: Crystal Lee, fourth-year majoring in bioinformatics and computational biology, Elena Fuentes Solano, third-year majoring in biomedical sciences and Daniel Aisogun, fifth-year and Buyi Owo-Odusi, fourth-year also biomedical sciences majors. LSAMP student Samantha Connell, a fourth-year biology major attended as well as CSTEP students and biomedical sciences majors Guerline Guerrier, fourth-year; Cammie Edwards, fourth-year, Sharmayne Gambrel and Aalisah Wynn, third-year students and Sarah Hong a fourth-year, nutritional sciences major.
