Apply Now for the McNair/LSAMP Program!
The deadline is just a few days away.
The time to apply—is now! The McNair and LSAMP programs are currently recruiting students who are interested in pursuing a PhD, MD/PhD or a researched-based master’s degree. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, February 11th.

McNair and LSAMP programs offer coaching through the graduate school and fellowship application and selection process. Students may also complete funded undergraduate research with faculty during the semester or summer session among other things.
New students are only admitted to the programs once a year, so if you are interested apply now.
Program eligibility requirements are as follows:
McNair Scholars Program Eligibility:
- Be either a second- or third-year, full-time RIT student
- Be interested in pursuing post-baccalaureate education, particularly a Ph.D.
- Have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Be either:
- A first-generation college student (from families in which neither parent or guardian has obtained a bachelor's degree in the United States) and low-income (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) OR
- A member of an underrepresented minority group (African American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Natives).
- Students must have a strong interest in attending graduate school
LSAMP Program Eligibility:
- Students must be members of a historically under-represented minority group
- Must be enrolled in an NSF designated STEM major (most, but not all, STEM majors at RIT qualify)
- Should have a GPA of 2.5 or above
- Can enroll during annual spring recruitment starting in their first year at RIT
- Students must have a strong interest in attending graduate school
