- Looking Ahead to Women’s History Month Events at RIT

Be sure to mark your calendars now, for some exciting events coming up in March to recognize and celebrate Women’s History Month.
RIT’s President’s Commission on Women (PCW) partners with campus organizations to help spread the word about the many contributions made by the women of RIT as well as the offices and programs that support women on campus.
Take a look at just some of what’s happening on campus in honor of National Women’s History Month:
February 28th Saunders College of Business will once again host Power Your Potential: Women's Leadership Conference "Empowering Women Leaders". This half-day women's leadership conference brings area businesswomen together to learn from one another and take part in educational activities geared at helping women succeed. This conference is geared towards Working business professionals to learn from peers, engage in educational activities, and help others succeed.
March 1st Saunders College of Business hosts the Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) geared towards high school and college-aged students to look to the future they desire by learning from and connecting with, successful business leaders and students from all different backgrounds and industries.
March 1st and 2nd Women in Computing at RIT will host WiCHacks, a 24-hour hackathon aimed at enhancing opportunities for students who identify as women or gender minorities in tech. You will collaborate to create apps, websites, games, or other software, with support from company sponsors and engineering mentors. The event promotes diversity and inclusion, welcoming anyone who supports its mission. This event is open to RIT and non-RIT students.
March 3rd It’s all about “Women Who Inspire.” Come meet and hear the esteemed Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, an Indigenous woman, mother, scientist, and advocate for sustainability. Kimmerer, author of acclaimed books like Braiding Sweetgrass, will share profound insights on our relationship with the natural world and how Indigenous perspectives can guide us towards a more harmonious coexistence with nature. This event is open to the entire RIT community and is from 11am-noon, with doors opening at 10:30.
March 21st From 2 to 5pm, join Women at the Frontier of Interdisciplinary Research Scholarship and Technology (WomenFIRST) for their second annual “Taste of Research.” The group supports interdisciplinary networking and research for women faculty and at this event, faculty will be able to “sample” different research being conducted by RIT women scholars. This will be followed with a happy hour and beer tasting with Watershed Brewing Company. It’s all happening in the Susan Holliday Center 12-4050. This event is for women faculty. March 27th There will be a Women’s Resource Fair from 11am to 1pm in the SAU Fireside Lounge, organized by the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Resource Center. Participants will be able to learn about the resources, clubs and organizations available for women. This is a student focused event with faculty and staff encouraged to attend.
March 28th The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Symposium will feature student and faculty presentations and explore the intersection of these topics with various technologies, including AI, biotechnology, and environmental tech. There will be a keynote luncheon, and panel discussions, highlighting the contributions and impacts of women, gender, and sexuality within technological field. This event is open to faculty, staff, and students.
