Come Celebrate Black Heritage Month at RIT
February marks the beginning of Black Heritage Month. At RIT, we’re excited to begin with the kickoff celebration on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the Fireside Lounge from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Join us for music, giveaways, food and more!
In addition, NTID will be celebrating Black Deaf Week from February 12th through February 17th. Students are welcome to attend the Memorial Art Gallery for their Annual Black Heritage Month Family Fun Day on February 17th from 12 noon until 4p.m. where there will be several performances, storytelling, cultural displays and crafts. This event is free and transportation will be provided for students.
Later in the month on February 28th beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Ingle Auditorium there is a viewing of Teach Us All, a documentary film and social justice movement aimed at providing equal access to quality education for all students in America. Following the screening there will be a panel of distinguished guests from the Greater Rochester community to engage in conversation and dialogue about the local education system.
