Bernard Rodgers is wearing a different hat these days.
He joins DDI as Assistant Director of MCAS: Student Engagement effective January 8, 2020.
For the last two and a half years, he has served as an Outreach Specialist for RIT Gear Up.
He is a 2017 graduate of RIT’s School of Communication, College of Liberal Arts and has been very active since he first stepped foot on campus. He was a Rochester City Scholar, a participant in Summer Bridge 2013 and a Peer Assistant in the Summer Experience. He was also a member of MOCHA cohort 12. He also worked as a student employee for MCAS.
Jonathan Ntheketha, Associate Director of Student Success and Engagement in the Multicultural Center for Academic Success, was the keynote speaker at Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity’s 34th Lambda Day Awards Banquet in New York City last month. The national organization presented him with the prestigious Seven Metas Award.
This award is given to individuals who embody the Seven Metas of the organization which include working to unite the Latino community, increasing the numbers of Latinos in education and offering academic and personal support.
Ntheketha serves as an advisor for the Beta chapter of LAU at RIT.
Dr. Taj Smith, Director of Diversity Education, was one of five people selected to share their knowledge and experience as a panelist at a TrendTalk Dinner January 15th. It was hosted by the Rochester Professional Consultants Network and focused on diversity, inclusion and equity.
