TRiO Upward Bound Students visit Washington, DC
Students from the Leadership Academy for Young Men and Greece Olympia High School who are in the TRiO Upward Bound Program were able to participate in a four day trip to Washington, DC. Which included visits to Georgetown University, Morgan State University, and Bowie State University. After the college visits, they took time to experience the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the National Monuments and Memorials.
The purpose of the trip was to expose high school students to colleges and universities outside of the Rochester area, specifically, Historically Black Colleges and Universities. In addition to exposing students to different colleges, these sixteen students also learned about the nation's capital and important events in American history.
