Join the Macchiano Mighty Warriors | March 2022
You’re invited to join the Macchiano Mighty Warriors team for the 12-hour RIT Relay for Life.
It is at Gordon Field House and it begins at 6pm Saturday April 2nd and ends the next morning at 6am. The team is in honor of James Macchiano, BFA ’06 MBA ’09, the director of the Multicultural Center for Academic Success (MCAS), who passed away in December of last year.
Victor Santiago, associate director, Student & Recent Alumni Engagement in University Advancement came up with the idea of pulling a team together in honor of Macchiano. He says, “James is the main reason why I am here at RIT. Without his mentorship and connections in the University Advancement Division, I do not know what I would be doing. He helped me find my passion for enhancing the student experience and sharing my personal stories with future RIT Tigers. Creating this team was just my small way of doing something in his memory.”
There is no deadline but Santiago is urging everyone to sign up as soon as possible in order to start fundraising. All funds raised go to the American Cancer Society via this event, hosted by the American Cancer Society on Campus student organization.
