Congratulations, to several Division of Diversity and Inclusion staff members for their accomplishments as they strive to continue making a difference in their community, especially to our most recent RIT graduates, as follows:
Silvia Caraballo, Senior Staff Assistant in the Office of Faculty Recruitment is graduating from the Saunders School of Business Leadership Fellow Program as an inaugural member earning, a master’s degree in Management with a concentration in Global Business and Supply Chain management. Silvia was also accepted into the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester as a Ph.D. candidate in Human Development.
Michele A. Hall-Council, Senior Staff Assistant in the Office for Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) is graduating from the School of Individualized Study magna cum laude, earning an associate’s degree in Applied Arts and Sciences.
Jonathan Ntheketha, Senior Assistant Director First Year Initiatives & Summer Bridge Program in the Multicultural Center for Academic Success (MCAS), is returning to the stage, after a 5-year hiatus from theatre, to perform in Blackfriars Theatre’s Avenue Q! This Tony Award-Winning musical will feature the original Broadway puppets, and is already breaking records at Blackfriars as its fastest selling show. With a nearly sold-out run, two shows have been added to the schedule. Avenue Q runs May 11th – 27th. Please note: While adorable puppets are featured in the production, this show contains mature content.
Stephanie Paredes, Assistant Director of Multicultural Programs in MCAS and Dr. Tomicka Wagstaff, Assistant Vice-President Student Access and Success, will be co-presenting at the 2018 National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education on May 30th in New Orleans, Louisiana on “The Impact Mentoring and Leadership Development has on Retaining Underrepresented Females at Predominately White Institution.”
JoVonna Victor, will begin her new role in the division as the Assistant Director for the McNair Scholars Program on May 22nd. She previously served as the Assistant Director of RIT’s Upward Bound Program.
