We are proud of you! Congratulations to the following DDI students:
Tobias Keohokapu represented RIT at the AISES in Canada National Gathering in Vancouver, BC back in March. Tobias presented his physics research as a panelist. He is majoring in Physics and is graduating this month. Tobias is Native Hawaiian and wanted to leave a legacy for the next generation of Native Hawaiian students on the RIT campus. An application has been submitted and is in the approval process to create the Hawaii Interest Club. Joseph Jimenez will be the President, Noah Apa – Vice President, Jalen Tam – Treasurer, La’akea Di Carlo – Secretary, Ka’ualani Caberano – Communications. The Hawaii Interest Club is open to all students.
Abigail Reigner, 4th year Mechanical Engineering student was elected as the 2023-2024 Kate Gleason College of Engineering (KGCEO) Senator. She is a member of the Comanche Nation and President of the Native American Student Association.
Sherralyn Sneezer is the recipient of the RIT 2023 Outstanding Graduate Woman Achievement Award (OGWAA). Sherry is a Ph.D. student in the Sustainability program studying Tribal Energy Sovereignty. She is also the President of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. The award is given to a female graduate student, in good academic standing, who has shown exceptional dedication to a specific program or organization at RIT and/or in the greater Rochester Community. Sherry is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and with ancestry to the San Carlos Apache Tribe. Read more here
The following student leaders received the RIT Frederick Douglass Scholarship. In addition to their leadership skills, recipients must also model good citizenship and provide community service.

Tahaara Gazali, second-year biomedical sciences major
Cindy Lam, fourth-year physician assistant BS/MS major
Victoria Newson, first-year international studies major
