Congratulations to our team as they are recognized for their leadership, dedication and community contributions, as follows:
David Oliver, outreach specialist with Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) was recognized by the Veterans Business Council with the 2018 Veterans Education Champion Award for his dedication, leadership and commitment to Veterans seeking to advance their educational opportunities.
Megan Tornow, senior staff assistant for the Multicultural Center for Academic Success (MCAS) was a nominee for the RIT Presidential Awards for Outstanding Staff on October 3rd.
Maria Vega, director of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), participated as a panelist for a workshop entitled “Building the Latino Pipeline” during the 2018 Upstate Latino Summit on October 17th at the Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, NY.
RIT’s Upward Bound Classic (UBC) program was awarded an additional $40,000 grant from the US Department of Education to offer high school students an opportunity to explore the world of computer science. The goal of the grant is to build upon their math skills as a building block of computer science by exposing them to basic computer science software and hands-on activities through the university.
