"Cultural humility is a life-long self-examination and accountability process that helps people think critically about their own assumptions, beliefs, biases, and values in order to address historic and current inequalities, said Taj Smith, director of Diversity Education. The workshops started in the summer of 2019 and participants are required to take part in a total of six before they can receive certificates. According to Smith, there are about 400 other RIT employees who are poised to complete the program within the next two years.
