Abigail Reigner, a second-year mechanical engineering student at RIT has been elected Region 6 representative to the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES). Abigail, whose name in Comanche is Nami (Little Sister) will serve as a liaison between the national office and regional student body. She is a member of RIT’s Native American Student Association, RIT Philharmonic Orchestra and Formula SAE racing.
Mikaela David-John ’17 (advertising and public relations) was elected Region 7 student representative to the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES). She is currently a graduate research assistant at the University of Florida. She was very active with RIT’s AISES organization.
Halima Aweis ’18 (biotechnology and molecular bioscience) and an alumni from RIT’s Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program is currently starting a PhD program in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Psychology at the University of Rochester.
