RIT is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15th through October 15th. The Division of Diversity and Inclusion invites you to join in the fun! Take a look at what we have planned:
September 15th- Fiesta en La Plaza: Hispanic/Latine/x Heritage Month Kickoff from 12 PM-2 PM in Global Village. We will have giveaways, dancing, food, and more! ASL interpreting provided, register via RIT events.
October 5th- Hispanic/Latine/x Heritage Month Mixer from 5 PM - 8 PM at Gracie’s. Join the Division of Diversity and Inclusion for an evening of gathering, connection, food, and celebration of our Hispanic and Latine/x students, staff, faculty, and alumni. ASL interpreting provided, register via RIT events.
October 12th-Hispanic/Latine/x Heritage Month Keynote Speaker: Wilfredo Alvarez from 5 PM - 6 PM in the Student Alumni Union, 1829 Room. Wilfredo Alvarez, Ph.D., BS ’02 (he/him/his) is the author of Everyday Dirty Work: Invisibility, Communication, and Immigrant Labor, a book that focuses on Latinx immigrant essential workers. Alvarez studied Communication at RIT and his teaching and research focus on communication issues related to social identity (i.e., race, ethnicity, social class, immigration, gender, sexual orientation, and ability status). ASL interpreting provided, register via RIT events.
October 13th- Brick City Homecoming: MOSAIC 10-Year Anniversary Celebration from 5 PM - 7 PM in the MOSAIC Center & Clark A. ASL interpreting provided, register via RIT events.
