Tobias Keohokapu, (Native Hawaiian) ’23 was featured in an article-and- on the cover of the summer edition of Winds of Change magazine. Keohokapu, who majored in physics, talked about his love of astronomy, his involvement with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) and his work to establish a Hawaiian Interest Club at RIT.
Camille Lea, a third-year computer engineering and philosophy double major says this is a “first” for her! Her book review, “Thinking Philosophically” co-authored with philosophy professor, John Capps has been published in Metascience. The pair reviewed the new book by Julian Baggini, How to Think Like a Philosopher. By the way, she says majoring in computer engineering and philosophy is a good mix. “I appreciate everything that computer engineering has to offer, however, I also had a large interest in philosophy. I believe that with AI advancements a person who can view things from both sides, technical and ethical, will be very beneficial.”
Congratulations to MCAS student Christine Martinez. She was nominated for and received the 2023 New York College Learning Skills Association’s Promising Student Award. Martinez is a third- year Interior Design student in the College of Art & Design and served as a peer advisor with the Division of Diversity and Inclusion Summer Experience program this year.
