DDI Celebration of Excellence |
The Division of Diversity and Inclusion held its annual Celebration of Excellence program last month. At the Celebration of Excellence, DDI presented Beacon Awards to DDI students, staff and faculty and also alumni in recognition of their work in enhancing diversity and inclusion both on and off the RIT campus. Keith Jenkins, DDI vice president and associate provost also presented special awards to RIT leaders who are making a difference.

DDI Vice President and Associate Provost Awards: Ellen Granberg, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Belinda Bryce, program director, Higher Education Opportunity Program
Faculty Beacon Award: Makini Beck, assistant professor, School of Individualized Study and Department of Sociology and Anthropology
Staff Beacon Award: James Entwistle, supervisor, Public Safety and coordinator of security for special events
Alumni Beacon Award: DaTwan Dixon, BS ’98 Computer Engineering, MS ’03 Software Development Management
Student Beacon Award: Cindy Lam, fourth-year physician assistant major
Student Beacon Award: Abigail Reigner, fourth-year mechanical engineering major
MOCHA of the Year Award: Brandon Stoyanovich, fourth- year mechanical engineering major
ALANA Collegiate Association honored the following: Phoenix Award-The Black Thought Collective,
Alana Family Award- The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, and Affiliate of the Year Award- Jayllen Hathman, Iota Phi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
