A DDI Tutoring Update from RIT'S Multicultural Center for Academic Success |
This spring semester, MCAS, CSTEP, and HEOP are collaborating to offer their services under DDI Tutoring. Dubbed Peer Course Consultants, MCAS student workers will manage the shared Hotspot to provide academic strategies and content support for drop-in students, while CSTEP and HEOP tutors will continue to offer one-on-one tutoring to their affiliates. Through mentorship, our team aids their peers by creating a sense of belonging and community, using affirming language, and sharing experiences of privilege and struggle. In addition, ASC peer coaches are present throughout the week during drop-in hours and some MCAS services are embedded across campus, starting with the Unity House.
The Hotspot is open Monday through Thursdays, 2pm - 7pm, in the Mosaic suite of the SAU. And MCASRIT is back on Instagram!
