Bio
Mark Smith is Director of leadership programs and the John D. Hromi Center for Quality & Applied Statistics in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at RIT. In this capacity he is responsible for graduate programs in Product Development and Manufacturing Leadership, as well as certificates and other customized course offerings for corporate clients. As Director of the Center he has responsibility for programs and workshops designed for working professionals in areas such as Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, and quality. Prior to joining RIT in 1998, he spent nearly 20 years in medical electronics R&D. Mr. Smith has a BS in Engineering Science from the University of Virginia and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

RIT faculty members, who led research initiatives as principal investigators, were honored at a reception on March 21 to celebrate the individuals who helped the university reach record awards surpassing $92 million and place among the top private research universities in the country.
