Bio
Dr. Sathwika Bavikadi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at RIT. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from George Mason University in 2024. Prior to her academic career, she worked at Ericsson in Sweden. She holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Signal Processing from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India.
Her research focuses on the intersection of machine learning and hardware accelerator design, with an emphasis on building customized computing architectures and programming models optimized for domain-specific applications such as healthcare, transportation, security, IoT, and artificial intelligence. By addressing key challenges in memory management, performance optimization, energy efficiency, and system usability, her work aims to make intelligent computing more accessible and efficient across a wide range of real-world scenarios.
Dr.Bavikadi is looking for motivated and technically strong PhD students and research assistants (both graduate and undergraduate) for her research lab.
