EZ-IO Power Testing Device
Our senior design team has created a device to test the power of an EZ-IO drill before it is inserted into a patient. Currently, the EZ-IO drill is used in patients when IV access is not possible. The drill is inserted into the patient's bone to supply fluids and medication. The problem with the drill currently is that there is no way to tell how much power is left and if there is enough power to drill into the human bone. Our team developed a device that quickly shows if there is enough power for the device to go into a patient before the attempt is made.
