Multidisciplinary Senior Design Project
Haiti Sustainable Urban Toilet
Come see a concrete toilet designed and created by RIT engineering students that will help thousands of families in Haiti have access to proper sanitation! This Senior Design team worked with a non-profit group in Haiti called SOIL, who provides a service that supplies a portable "dry toilet" to a family in their home and then collects the fecal waste weekly. The team has developed a new and innovative process to mass-produce the concrete toilet bases for SOIL's service in Haiti, which now includes 3D-printing, fiberglass molding, and pouring concrete.
