Charles Arnold Lecture: Visual Journalist Tamir Kalifa

Tamir Kalifa, an Austin, Texas-based photojournalist, is delivering a talk as part of the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences' Charles Arnold Lecture Series at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 in Wegmans Theater (MAGIC Spell Studios). 

Kalifa works around the globe covering long-term, issue-based news reporting and responding to breaking news for some or the biggest clients in the world. His intimate and long-term work following the school shooting and the families impacted in Uvalde has been widely praised for its depth, sensitivity and scope and most recently, Tamir was sent to Hawaii to cover the devastating wild fires there and now is in Israel covering the current war for The New York Times.

His lecture is titled "Working from the Heart: An Emotional Approach to Documentary Photography."

Prior to his talk, Kalifa is set to appear on WXXI's Connections radio show from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13. Kalifa will discuss his work around the globe with host Evan Dawson.
