LGBTQ+ Allyship workshop for faculty
Join us for a primer on the language of gender and sexuality and to discuss how to be an authentic ally to LGBTQ+ colleagues, students, and friends!
Our shared understanding of gender and sexuality is rapidly evolving, and at times, it can feel hard to keep up. The College of Science is therefore offering a workshop on LGBTQ+ Allyship for faculty, where we will give a primer on the language of gender and sexuality and discuss how to be authentic allies to LGBTQ+ colleagues, students, and friends. We will discuss both broadly shared experiences of trans- and homophobia and issues that are specific to STEM contexts, and we will have space for participants to bring questions or challenges specific to their own work for reflection or feedback. Light lunch will be provided; please contact jclcos@rit.edu with any dietary restrictions.
This workshop is open to all COS faculty members.
