RIT Tiger Stadium

On April 18, 2024, RIT broke ground on the new Tiger Stadium. The new stadium will be one of the most publicly visible facilities at RIT, and the first major, named structure visitors encounter when they enter campus. It will be home to the recently dedicated Doug May Field. The new stadium will provide a modern, lighted venue for four varsity sports played by over 160 student-athletes each year. For both the RIT community and greater Rochester, this new state-of-the-art stadium will be a leading outdoor venue of this size and configuration.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, in 2022 RIT achieved its goal of raising $1 million to name the field at Tiger Stadium in honor of legendary men's soccer coach Doug May. Coach May's presence will be seen and felt at the heart of the new Tiger Stadium - a fitting tribute to Coach's spirit and his exemplary coaching and mentoring of others.

A New Home for Soccer and Lacrosse

RIT has partnered with LaBella Associates and Populous to design and build a modern stadium to accommodate our growing athletics program. The new Tiger Stadium will provide a modern, lighted venue for four intercollegiate varsity sports played by 160+ student-athletes each year. For both the RIT community and greater Rochester, this new state-of-the-art stadium will be a premier outdoor venue of this size and configuration.

Main Concourse

The main stadium concourse provides a welcoming entrance to over 1,100-seats and access to mezzanine-level guest amenities including a premier hospitality suite and concessions, as well as the media suite for members of the press.

Game Day Experience

With capacity for over 1,100 fans, Tiger Stadium's new seating will be the vibrant pulse of the fan experience. Every seat is the "best seat in the house," offering sweeping views of Doug May Field and an immersive vantage point to take in the action below.

Located on the concourse level, Tiger Stadium's concessions area is designed to elevate the fan experience, offering an array of traditional game day goodies and refreshments. Spectators are invited to visit and experience the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes that enhance a live sporting event.

Premier Indoor Hospitality Suite

With over 2,100 square feet of space to accommodate guests, the hospitality suite overlooking Doug May Field will be the premier indoor event space at Tiger Stadium, offering an exclusive VIP experience for fans and special guests.

Spectator Lobby

Setting the stage for an unforgettable game day experience, the spectator lobby will welcome guests with vibrant RIT branding and provide access to guest services, the ticket office, restrooms, and an accessible means to the main concourse on the second level. The lobby will also feature Tiger Stadium's recognition wall, highlighting generous donors whose gifts of $25,000 or more helped RIT realize our vision for the new stadium.

Athletes Lobby

The Athletes Lobby exudes both comfort and functionality. It offers an inviting lounge area where student-athletes can relax, mentally prepare for upcoming events, and easily access locker rooms, coaches’ offices, and cutting-edge training facilities. The lobby will also welcome prospective student-athletes and their families with sleek, modern design elements and nods to our men’s and women’s lacrosse and soccer teams’ heritages, featuring two display cases that house Tigers memorabilia and trophies.

Athletes Tunnel / The Tiger Den

The Athletes Tunnel embodies the anticipation and adrenaline of competition and serves as a gateway between preparation and performance. As student-athletes stride through this corridor, they are enveloped in an atmosphere pulsating with excitement and the resonating echoes of cheering fans.

Updated Locker Rooms

Men's and Women's lacrosse and soccer teams will enjoy all new, upgraded locker rooms including convenient access to in-room fueling stations, stocked with wholesome, nutritious snacks and beverages to help maximize their energy, performance, and recovery after intensive training sessions and games.

Athletic Training Room

Whether it's preparing for competition, rehabilitating from injury, or fine-tuning their skills, student-athletes can access a comprehensive suite of resources tailored to enhance their physical and mental resilience in the athletic training room. The facility, located on the ground level of Tiger Stadium is fully equipped wiht top-of-the-line hydrotherapy tubs, accommodations for taping/treatment and exams, and supplies to allow athletes to push the boundaries of their capabilities with confidence.
